Watson’s Riverside 115 – 24.94 kV Substation — Horry E.C.I., Conway, SC
Mr. Burt was the project manager for the 115 – 24.94/14.4 kV substation. The station had a circuit switcher on the high side, one 21 MVA transformer, and seven circuits with feeder regulation on the low side. SEL overcurrent and differential relays were used to protect the station. The project included preparing final drawings, writing the contract and specifications, biding the project, awarding the erection contract, performing the final inspection, calibrating all relays, performing functional testing of the protective systems and placing the station in service in June 2020. Mr. Burt has completed six other stations and five relay panel upgrades for Horry ECI since 2015.

Dupont 34.5kV Substation – Rappahannock Electric Cooperative — Fredericksburg, VA
Designed, prepared specifications, bid out, and upgraded five protective relay panels for a four 34.5kV breaker ring bus at Rappahannock’s 34 kV Dupont Substation. Installed the panels, function checked and tested.

Medway 115-25kV Substation – Berkeley E.CI., Moncks Corner, SC
Designed relay panel to protect a new 60 MVA transformer added to the Medway Substation that feeds a Google data center. The protective scheme ultilized two SEL 751s, one for high side overcurrent and one for low side overcurrent protection, and one SEL 787 for differential protection of the transformer. Function checked and tested panel before putting into service.
